Brenda Landry Autrey

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of Brenda L. Autrey, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Saturday from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday morning by Deacon Ulysses Joubert. 

Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Carlee Faulk. Gift Bearers will be Colton Faulk, Curtis Autrey and Emily Autrey. 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

For over 35 years, Brenda devoted her life to caring for others as a nurse, a vocation she was deeply passionate about. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her patients made a significant impact on countless lives throughout her career. 

Brenda also had passions of cooking and baking for her family. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren. Brenda also loved watching Cecilia football and college football. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Mickey Autrey; sons, Jonathan Autrey (Kristin) and Matthew Autrey (Katelyn); daughter, Kristy Faulk (Jason); and her grandchildren, Carlee and Colton Faulk, Emily and Curtis Autrey and Helen Autrey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Jane Hebert Landry; parents-in-law, Curtis and Geraldine Autrey; and brother, Billy Landry.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Autrey, Matthew Autrey, Curtis Autrey, Colton Faulk, Jason Faulk, Derrick Robin and Kerwin Theriot. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at The Carpenter House for their warm welcome, care and compassion.
