St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Brenda Joyce Hypolite , 56, who passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at New Iberia Manor North.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm on Friday.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Friday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Mary Ethel Darby, Cynthia Hypolite, Alberta Narcisse and Rhonda Broussard. Gift bearers will be Brelle Hurst, Breonne Hurst and Kendyl Mitchell.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Brenda was born October 14, 1964 in Lafayette. She attended trade school after graduating from St. Martinville Senior High in 1980. She enjoyed sewing, going to the casino, helping tutor children, and getting together with friends and classmates. Brenda loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son, Bernell Hypolite; sisters, Patricia Hypolite (Walter), Rose Bonhomme, Juilette Alexander (Robert), Shelia Hypolite and Thelma Hypolite; brother, Nicholas Hypolite, Jr. and wife Erica; grandchildren, Brelle Hypolite and Breonne Hypolite; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Thelma Ambrose Hypolite, Sr.; sister, Carolyn Collins; brother, Richard Hypolite; and brother-in-laws, Kenny Bonhomme and Hercules Alexander.
Pallbearers will be Courtney Perrodin, Jordan Hypolite, Joseph Gilliam, Junius Adams, Kavin Bonhomme and David Welcome.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jarvis Francis, Robert Batiste, Walter Pickney, Henry Fontenette Jr., Gerald Collins, Kenneth Williams Jr., Denzel Alexander, Larry Kerlegan, David Bobb, Michael Williams, Michael Francis, Dave Zeno, Cloney Ambroise, Jonathan Ambroise, Odale Darby, Jr. and Josiah Times.
