St. Martinville - A Memorial will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Brenda V. Landry, 71, who passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm on Thursday. Rev. Michael Champagne will officiate at the Memorial Service and Sheriff Ronnie Theriot will offer words of remembrance. Brenda was a dedicated mother and wife who made a career in law enforcement. She served the public for 51 years as a deputy with St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office. Brenda was a generous person and had a great sense of humor; she could make anyone laugh. Her greatest enjoyment was visiting with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving spouse Gene Landry; sons, Scott Landry and wife Stacey and Kody Landry and wife Tammy; daughters, Amber Rae Landry and Laci L. Freeman; sister, Glenda Bernis; grandchildren, Dyllan Landry, Keaton Landry, Blayze C. Landry, Bevyn Landry, Brady Miller, Lexi Miller, Noah Freeman, Trevor Landry, Halie Landry, Brylie Landry, Layke Landry, and Kodi Lynn Landry; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cecile Broussard Vincent; son, Kennon Landry; and sister, Jeanelle Molbert.
