St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Brenda Joyce White, 63, who passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until funeral mass at 11:00 am on Monday, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Monday. Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Brenda Joyce was born in New Orleans to the late Evans and Mary Mercier Patterson. She was a nurses aide, who during her free time enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening, writing poetry, and spending time with family. She is survived by her sons, Louis White, Jr. and Oscar Morton; daughters, Eva G. Morton Carattini and spouse Alexis G. and Danielle Fontenette; grandchildren, Christian A. Carattini, Brie T. Carattini, Aaliyah S. Carattini, Deontrae Morton, Danathan Morton, Hope Fontenette, Liza Fontenette, Keri Fontenette, and Kervin Fontenette, Jr.; and one great grandchild, Colin C. Anthony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis White, Sr.; her parents, Evans and Mary Mercier; brother, Edmond Patterson; and sister, Mary Margaret P. Pierre.
