Brett 'Red' Sturm

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Brett "Red" Sturm, 58, who passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, in Lafayette. Interment will be at a later date. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Mr. Sturm was born on March 29, 1959 to the late Robert and Marie Sturm and worked as a maintenance manager for the Fluor Federal Petroleum Operations. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his daughter, Lexi LeBlanc and husband Blake of New Iberia; sons, Tim Sturm and wife Trudy of New Iberia, Joey Sturm and wife Kristy of Youngsville; companion, Annette Poirrier of Picayune, MS; 8 grandchildren; and best friends, Bobby Muffoletto, Sr. of Grand Marais, John Heckler of Abita Springs, Hope and Kyle McGill of Picayune, MS, Bobby "Dilla" Muffoletto, Jr., Gerrit "T-Blue" Landry, and Warren "Buck" Romero. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Sturm and Corey Sturm.
