Rynella - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church for Brock Delcambre, 21, who died Monday at a local hospital.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family mausoleum.
The Rev. Richard Fabre, pastor of St. Marcellus Catholic Church will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral service. Musical selections will be performed by Sonya Trahan-Dugas, organist and Kibby Delcambre, soloist. Gift bearers will be Brock's brother and sister, Brandon and Brie. Altar server will be Hunter Pellerin. Terry Babineaux will be the reader for the Mass.
Survivors include his mother and father, Rhonda and Lenny Delcambre of ?Rynella; brother Brandon Delcambre and girlfriend Kristin Aucoin of Rynella; sister, Brie Delcambre of Rynella; grandparents, Don and Harriet Fowler of Delcambre, Chuck and Shirley Kelley of New Iberia; great grandmother Jeanne Derouen; Godmother, Debbie Blanchard-Boudreaux of New Iberia; Godfather, Rusty Delcambre of MS; Godchild, Emma Touchet of New Iberia and his girlfriend Sarah Armentor.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leonard Blanchard; paternal grandfather, Ronald Delcambre; maternal great grandparents, Luke and Lola Broussard, Lazaire and Alzaire Blanchard, Sr.; paternal great grandparents, Sanford and Antoinette Delcambre, Wilton Derouen and great-great aunt, Rella Broussard.
As a young boy Brock belonged to the Cub Scouts and later followed the Boy Scouts where he learned the love of the outdoors. As a young gentleman he was a member of the Youth Uplift Program at St. Peter's Catholic Church, served as an Altar server for St. Marcellus Catholic Church and was a member of the New Iberia Industrial Softball League. Brock was a 2003 graduate of Catholic High School, where he played football, baseball and was a member of the 4-H Livestock program where he showed his champion pigs.Brock was employed by Rohm & Haas Advanced Materials. He also enjoyed hunting, boating and spending time with his dogs Sophie and Camo.
Brock's decision to be an organ donor expressed his generous and selfless nature.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 9 am until 10 pm. And Thursday from 8 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Wednesday evening.
Honored to serve as pallbearers, Brandon Delcambre, Rusty Delcambre, Ronald ""RP"" Touchet, Josh Broussard, Jake Armentor and Seth Babineaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Delcambre, Dustin Suire, Paul Chevalon, Blake Bourgois, Philip Thomas,John Boutte, Stuart Duncan, Ren Delcambre, Lance Blanchard and Denny Louviere. ?
