New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Brudley Ray Kibodeaux, II, 43, who died on Thursday, August ?9, 2007, in St. Martin Parish Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Fr. Gary Schexnayder, will be the Celebrant. A 1981 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, Brudley attended University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) from 1981 to 1983. He received extensive training throughout his career including LSU Field In-Service Training, Child Abuse and Exploitation Investigative Techniques, LSU POST Juvenile Officers School, P&P Basic Training, Defensive Tactics, CAJUN II Training, Substance Abuse Assessment, Interpersonal Communications, Gang Identification Management, PPCT Defense Tactic System Instructor, Advanced Investigation, PPCT Spontaneous Knife Defense, Leadership Iberia II, Coordinator of Area Solutions to Poverty, High Risk Entry Team, and many others. Brudley was employed by State of Louisiana, Department of Probation and Parole, for the past 20 years. In addition, he worked for Village Bingo, as manager and asst. manager, since 1997. He also worked for Commercial Securities, the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office from 1985 to 1989, and was the Youth Director at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in New Iberia, from 1982 to 1986. ? His community involvement include past president of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Youth Council, active in the ?Iberia Youth Pee Wee Football League, past president of the New Iberia Jaycees, in which he is currently the CEO, past State president of the Louisiana Jaycees, past chaplain of the United States Jaycees, past Board Member of the Iberia Chamber of Commerce, active in the New Iberia Quarterback Club, member of the Knights of Columbus 5111, member of Woodmen of the World, member of the LA Probation and Parole Officer Association, past president of the LA Fraternal Order of Police, member of the American Red Cross, presently a Iberia Charter Member and Shelter Team Coordinator for the Community Emergency Response Team, and currently president of the Iberia Boys and Girls Club. Several achievements that Brudley was honored with include 1980 Knights of Columbus Squire of the Year, 1995 Outstanding Young Law Enforcement Officer, 1996 LA Probation and Parole Officer of the Year, 1995 and 1996 New Iberia Jaycees - Jaycee of the Year, 2000 US Jaycees Top State President, 2001 Junior Chamber International Senatorship, 2003 Junior Chamber International Ambassadorship, 2005 Law Enforcement Blue Ribbon Commission, and 2005 Woodman of the World Outstanding Citizen. Survivors include his mother, Jane Cormier Kibodeaux, of New Iberia, his father, Ray Kibodeaux and Terry Sanders, of Crowley; his sisters, Colleen Moreaux and husband James ""Daigo"" of New Iberia; Lisa Duhon and husband Elby of New Iberia, Georgiana Owen and husband John of Gueydan, Lacey Broussard and husband Chad of Rayne; brothers, Danny Kibodeaux, of New Iberia, Coty Kibodeaux and wife Sharisa of Morse; godchildren, Hailey Hebert, Brooke Shittone, Trevor Hanson; nieces and nephews, Brandon Harlow, Derek Duhon, Tyler Kibodeaux, Tory Kibodeaux, Braeden Broussard, Misti Moreaux, Heather Moreaux, Ava Kibodeaux, Brock Moreaux, and Cade Thielen, who was like a son to him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lester Cormier; paternal grandparents, George and Linda Kibodeaux; godfather, Stephen Istre; and nephew, Logan Kibodeaux. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, August 13, 2007, from 12 Noon until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM Monday evening.
