Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Byron Gerard Roy, 50, who passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 am until 10 am on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Byron was a native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and had been a resident of Houston, Texas for several years. From an early age Byron had a gift and passion for music. He took that passion and developed his musical skills to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a professional musician. Byron was a talented vocalist, as well as a skillful instrumentalist who enjoyed playing the guitar and keyboards. Byron played the keyboards with local bands, Easy Street and Lost & Found, and Houston based bands, The Sheila Marshall Band and Eleventh-Hour Houston. As a pastime, Bryon enjoyed going to gun shows and collecting and flying model airplanes, helicopters, and drones. Byrons presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. The music he gifted us with will forever play within the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Francis Richard Roy and Wanda Anderson Roy of Breaux Bridge, LA; his brother, Devin J. Roy; his sister, Melinda Sylvester; three nephews, Brodie Jude Roy, Dominick (Bailey) Shane Roy, and Marlon Jude Wiltz; three grandnephews, Brodie Jude Roy, Jr., Sonny Island Roy, and Nazir Raizo Roy; and a grandniece, Love Charm Roy. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sterling and Eula Anderson; his paternal grandparents, Clausy and Germaine Roy; and his brother, Dominick Shane Roy. Pallbearers will be Maurice McGee, Gregory Dandridge, Randall Menard, Percy McDaniel, Brian Petry, and Brandon Trent.
