Calvin Bayard

Lydia: Memorial service will be held for Calvin “Beanie” Bayard, at 2:00 pm, on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.

Visitation will be Monday, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Calvin passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Vermillion Health care Center in Kaplan where he was a resident of for the past 20 years.

Beanie was born on March 16, 1940, in New Iberia La. to Albert and Evelyn T.  Bayard Sr.

In his younger days he worked as a helper at J n L in Jeanerette. His hobbies were fishing and riding his motorcycle. He spent his weekends with his friends in Grand Marais. He enjoyed watching old western shows, listening to French music, and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his brothers, Dennis “Judy” Bayard of Lydia, and Harry J. Bayard of New Iberia; his sister Diane Bayard of California; goddaughter Carmelite Tilton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Tenney Bayard; father, Albert “Frenchie” Bayard Sr.; brothers, Tillman Tenney and Albert Bayard Jr.; sister Darlene Bayard Conrad; and his godson, Dennis “Danny Boy” Bayard Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Cortney Meyers, Joshua Naquin, Steven Meyers, Preston Tenney, Neal Naquin and William Hull Sr.

A special thank you to the staff of Vermillion Healthcare Center staff for the kindness they showed to Calvin.
