Carl Cagle

New Iberia – Private services will be held at a later date for Carl Raymond Cagle, 83, who passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

 A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Cagle was born on September 2, 1941, in Asheboro, North Carolina, to the late Murdo Stamey Cagle and Ola Ingold Cagle. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy, Navy Seabees, during the Vietnam War. Mr. Cagle was an electrician, having worked in the oilfield all his life. He was self-employed and had also worked for Ensco and Penrod. 

Carl enjoyed music deeply and had written several songs. However, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gussie Mae McKee Cagle of New Iberia; children, Faith Cagle of New Iberia, and Carl Cagle of Fruithurst, Alabama.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Cagle, Murdo S. Cagle, Jr, Craig Cagle, Grady Cagle, James Cagle, and Junior Cagle; sisters, Verda Southard, Shirley Fishel, and Gladys Marie Cagle Henly.
