Carl Joseph Schmolke

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Carl Joseph Schmolke, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Carl was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Paul Schmolke and Justine Odom. He enjoyed sitting outside each day and waving to the people passing by. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughters, Janice Franklin and husband Dwayne Usie, Karen Schmolke, and Rose Marie Patin; sons, David Franklin and wife Belinda, Paul Schmolke, and Michael Schmolke; brothers, David and Jim Odom; sisters, Lois Burkett, Pearl Macks and Justine Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Ann Schmolke; father, Paul Anthony Schmolke, Sr.; mother, Justine Elizabeth Boozes Schmolke; and brothers, Paul Schmolke, Jr., Harvey Odom, III, Marvin Odom, and John Odom. Pallbearers will be David Franklin, Michael Schmolke, Jody Franklin, Logan Franklin, Terance Patin, and Donnie "DJ" Smith Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Schmolke, Damien Franklin, and Dylan Dore.
