Carmen Ann James

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Carmen Ann James, 49, who died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. ; ; ; ; ; Carmen loved singing, dancing, and spiritual readings. She was a past CCD coordinator and teacher, former secretary and children's choir director at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Carmen was an active member of The Expressions of Notre Dame Adult Choir, the James' Sisters singing group, and the Rosary Prayer Group. Survivors include her fianc, Lincoln Wiltz, Jr. of St. Martinville; her brothers, Curtis James, Sr. and his wife, Rose of Lafayette and Chris Christopher James of St. Martinville; her sisters, Helen Bourda of St. Martinville, Felicia Mercier and her husband, Walter of St. Martinville, Philomena James of Inglewood, CA, Joanne Pratt and her husband, Alexander, Jr. of St. Martinville, Myrtle St. Julien and her husband, Conrad, Sr. of Sugarland, TX, Althea James of St. Martinville, Carmella Marshall and her husband, Ed of Harvey, and her goddaughter and niece, Kristina Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anita Wiltz and Elias James, Sr.; her brother, Elias James, Jr.; her sister, Anita Mae James; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Bourda. ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; . The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Conrad St. Julien, Jr., Curtis James, Sr., Chris Christopher James, David Mercier, Carl Pratt, Michael Mercier, Jason St. Julien, Steven Mercier and Terrence Bourda. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff Ronnie Theriot, St. Martin Sheriff Deputy's and Honor Guard, former St. Martin Parish Sheriff, Charles August Fuselier, Lt. Col. Bernard Mitchell, Walter Mercier, Alexander Pratt, Jr., Ed Marshall, Conrad St. Julien, Sr., Lincoln Wiltz, Jr., Earl Dundas and Paulmer James, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
