Carol Blanchard

Catahoula- A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Carol J. Blanchard, 72, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at his residence.

Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate the memorial service.  A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am by the Men's Rosary Group.

Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

Born in St. Martinville, on December 14, 1952, Carol was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his immense love for his family. Carol dedicated many years to a successful career in the oil field as a supervisor. Outside of work, he had many hobbies, including gardening, woodworking, and riding motorcycles. He found great joy in visits to the casino and took pleasure in watching sports, proudly supporting his favorite teams, the Washington Commanders and the Houston Astros. He will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Leblanc Blanchard; daughters, Brook Melancon (Mitch) and Callie Delcambre (Kahnan); grandchildren, Bailey Underwood (Donovan), Macy Gaspard (Lane), Briley Blanchard, McKenzie Melancon, Amelia Bernis, and Simmie Dugas; great-grandchildren, Faith LaBorde, Jay Gaspard, Kholstin Alexander and, Joli Gaspard; siblings, Marshall Blanchard (Patsy), Lillian Suire (Wilton "Kini") and, Evelyn Barras (James "Ti-boy"); and brother-in-law, Timmy Huval.

He is preceded in death by his father, Olden Blanchard; mother, Bernice Latiolais Blanchard; son, Jared Blanchard; sister, Annette Huval; brother, Allen Blanchard; sister-in-law, Miranda Blanchard; and niece, Cherie' Alexandrescu.
