Carol was quick to share her love of God and her Catholic faith with all who crossed her path. After a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, she became a prayer warrior. She did many, many novenas, and encouraged everyone to attend Mass, receive the Sacraments, and pray the Holy Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. She reminded people not to waste their suffering, but to offer it up 'for the poor souls in purgatory.'She was kind and generous, and loved to give gifts. If someone admired something she owned, she would insist that they have it. She would remove clothing or jewelry and present it to the admirer. Carol loved animals - large and small, domestic and exotic. From dogs and cats to feather-footed chickens and sheep, she delighted in raising them. Carols creativity was boundless. She was a story-teller, a seamstress and an artist. She wove tall tales and wrote books for children and short stories for adults. She created seashell mosaics and used acrylics to paint canvases, vases, and even furniture.Carol had a quirky sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks. She loved a good laugh. She offered her opinions, whether they would be well-received or not, and she tried to guide people to do the right thing. She had a unique way of speaking her mind. She could cuss like a sailor and still come out sounding every bit like the lady she was.Despite a painful struggle with Lupus and Fibromyalgia, Carol kept a positive attitude and when asked how she was doing, often replied, 'Fat and Sassy,' - then she changed the subject. She loved her family, her friends, her community and her Church. But she loved her Lord Jesus most of all. Surely she is Rejoicing with our Heavenly Father and praying for each of us until we join her.Memorial contributions may be made for Masses. To view obituary, video tribute, and sign guestbook, go to www.pellerinfuneralhome.comPellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331 is in charge of the arrangements.
