Carolyn Marie Bonin was born and raised in Franklin, LA along with her six siblings under the loving care of her two amazing parents who taught her so much. She went on to marry the love of her life, Wallace Bonin, better known as "Boogie" Bonin, on February 8, 1964. The two were peas in a pod and had a marriage full of love and grace that lasted for an amazing 60 years. They made a happy home for their four kids, 10 grandkids, 20 great grandkids, and anyone who entered their home.
One thing Carolyn's dad loved and passed onto her was the love for gardening and all things that grow from God's creation. If you knew anything about Carolyn, you knew how much she loved flowers. How to care for them and help them grow. And if you knew Carolyn personally, you knew her love for others and how to care for them and help them grow in Jesus! But the thing that made her leap was loving and caring for her family and their hearts. She was a God-fearing, praying woman, who had a faith that NEVER wavered. She always had a song on her heart and was always humming and smiling with the angelic brightness you'd expect to see only in heaven.
Anyone she encountered, she showed the love of Christ. She was a true servant of Christ in every meaning of the word. She served with such a love and never even had a thought of the favor being returned. She never judged. She never saw the bad and only ever saw others through the eyes of Jesus. She loved like Christ, served like Christ, and shined with a light so bright it could never be dimmed.
Carolyn always loved the holidays. She was always happily cooking and humming as her family poured into her home. The house was filled with love, laughter, and the sound of her favorite Christmas song, "Come On, Ring Those Bells" by Evie. It filled her with joy watching everyone talk, laugh, and eat her amazing food that she prepared with love.
We will continue to carry on all of her favorite traditions, just as she'd like us to. But most importantly, she would want us to carry on showing others the love of God, the way she always did. She implanted in all of us the Love of God and a servant's heart. We all aspire to live and love like her.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Wallace Bonin, Jr.; children, Kevin Paul Bonin (Laurie), Kim Chandler, Mark Bonin (Tana), and Rachel Arsement (Derwood); brothers, Murphy Naquin, Sr., Rudy Naquin, Barry Naquin (Robbi); sister, Patsy von Dreusche (Charles); 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murphy Naquin, Sr. and Agatha Sinitiere Naquin; brother, Richard Naquin; infant brother, Kenneth Naquin; and great-grandchildren, Eli Justice Springer and Nehemiah Courage Springer.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bonin, Mark Bonin, Derwood Arsement, Chase Bonin, Hunter Bonin and David Bonin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Daigle, Jordan Springer, Caleb Horn, Quintin Van Way, and Drew Boyd.
