St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Carolyn P. Bourda, 75, who passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm on Friday. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Carolyn was called home on August 16, 2018. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her dearly. She was affectionately known to many as Mother, Mother Bourda, and Caro. Carolyn had the keen ability to befriend all who came into contact with her. Carolyn graduated as salutatorian from Adam Carlson High School in 1961. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Southern University and Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. She was a teacher in Orleans Parish for 34 years. She leaves precious memories with her husband of 52 years; George Bourda, Jr.; daughter Elizabeth Miles (Chris) of Flower Mound, TX; son, George Bourda III (Debbi) of Lantana, TX; and five grandchildren: Ashley, Chris, Brittney, Renee, and George IV; her biological mother Goldie Mallory, two sisters Alma Auguillard (Joseph) and Lucille Gordon, and one brother Milton Mallory all of St. Martinville. Carolyn also left a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll and Elizabeth Patterson, a sister Madeline Augilliard, and a brother Anthony Gerard Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA 70582, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
