Carrie Guidry

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Am, Monday, July 17, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Carrie Guidry, 75, who died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Carrie was born in Breaux Bridge, LA into a farming family. After completing her education she worked as a cashier at Heymann Food Center for 23 years. She then joined her busband catching crawfish in the surrounding area ponds. She truly enjoyed outdoors and seeing the traps full of crawfish. Carrie was also a devoted wife taking extremely good care of her husband, Ches. She welcomed family and friends with a warm smile and cold refreshment and was eager to share garden produce. Survivors include her husband of 50 years Chester "Shorty" Guidry; her sister, Mabel Babb Bergeron and her husband, Irving of Rayne, LA; her brother, Chester Babb and his wife, Alida of Simmesport, LA and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed her happy and sharing nature. She was preceded in death by her father, Ramsey Babb; her mother, Edesse Huval Babb; her brother, Loiston Babb; and her infant sister, Mary. Carrie was a loving woman who accepted life's trials with a positive and can do attitude. She truly represented the good in this life. She will be thought of with the fondest of memories. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 Am till 10:00 Pm Sunday, July 16, 2006 and continue at 8:00 Am till 9:30 Am Monday, July 17, 2006. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 Pm, Sunday, July 16, 2006 Pallbearers will be Wayne Bergeron, Karl Bergeron, Bryant Bergeron, Jace LaVergne, Jackie Leonard and Dale Schexnayder. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
