Catherine "Cathy" Benoit

Breaux Bridge - A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Catherine "Cathy" Benoit, 69, who passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Cathy was a devout Christian and above all, she loved the Lord. She dedicated her life to serving and teaching children. Cathy was the owner and operator of La Petite Ecole Daycare in Lafayette, which she ran for 22 years. She then opened Breaux Bridge Christian Academy that she operated for 12 years until her retirement. Cathy was an amazing, strong-willed woman, who was also known for her amazing cooking and her passions of gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors. She was devoted to her children and family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Cathy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Karine Baird and Jodie Orgeron (Malcolm, III); sons, James Baird, Jr. and David Baird (Katie); grandchildren, Kirstin Lanerie, Austyn Mestayer, Samuel Coleman, Jasmine Baird, Sebastian Baird, Desmond Baird, Malcolm Orgeron, IV, Asher Orgeron and Darci Orgeron; and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, James, Rendin, Jayleigh, Jocelyn, Emmjae, Scarlet, Sophia and Caroline.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Benoit and Wanda Primeaux Benoit; former husband, Robert Charpentier; sisters, Carol Marceaux and Danette Meaux; and her brother, Bubba Benoit.
