Cecile Dore Maturin

New Iberia - Private services will be held for the immediate family of Cecile Dore Maturin, 90, who passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in New Iberia.

Private interment will be at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.

Cecile Dore Maturin was born on March 25, 1931 to the late Wilfred Dore and Una Touchet Gary. She was a hard worker all of her life, and very kind-hearted. Her family was her main priority. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved to cook for her family on Sundays. She had a green thumb, and loved tending to her garden and going to the casino. She will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Maturin is survived by three sons, Forrest Maturin (Roxie) of Coteau, Reynolds "Renis" Maturin of Lake Charles, and Michael Maturin (Carlie “Squid”) of St. Martinville; two daughters, Barbara M. Hebert of New Iberia, and Theresa M. Landry (Mark) of Abbeville; grandchildren, Marc (Megan) Hebert, Anne (Nick) LeBlanc, Jennifer (Kirk) Landry, Randy (Andie) Landry, Melanie Landry, Coty (Amber) Landry, Hope (Scott) Hebert, Chris Maturin, and Chassity (Taylor) Maturin; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Maturin; a brother, Alexson Dore; sister, Eunice Segura; and an infant daughter, Sheila Maturin.
