Cecile Hebert Segura

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in New Iberia for Cecile Hebert Segura, 92, who died Sunday, June 1, 2008 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Terrel Dressel and Vicki Clement. Gift Bearers include Tara Vincent, Inge Obermuller, Mandy Desormeaux, Linda Ransonet Clifton, Cheryl McHugh, Janie Suard Dugas, Jennifer Neuville, and Judy Theriot. A native of Loreauville and longtime New Iberia resident, Mrs. Segura is a retired history teacher, having taught for 33 years at Loreauville High School. She enjoyed traveling, reading, scrap booking, ceramic eggs, entertaining friends, and was dedicated to furthering the education of Loreauville graduates. Survivors include her husband, Alton A. Segura of New Iberia; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; her dedicated caregiver, Tara Vincent. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aymr and Vernice Broussard Hebert. Pallbearers will be Dr. Whitney Gonsoulin, Russell Gonsoulin, Jr., Lester Gonsoulin, Jr., Robert Segura, Charles Clement, and J.O. Neuville, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Armand Gonsoulin, Creed Dugas, David Decuir, Terrel Dressel, and Mike Clifton. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Iberia Parish Public Library.
