Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Charlene Willis Potier, 52, who passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 am on Thursday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. On June 10, 1962, the Lord blessed us with Charlene W. Potier, born to Albert Willis, Jr. and Rose Marie Celestine. She was a native of Breaux Bridge, LA and a proud graduate of Holy Rosary Institute, where she was an active member of the band. Charlene was a caring and loving soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Charlene enjoyed traveling and shopping with her girls. She never had a harsh word, but encouragement for others. Despite her illness she never lost faith or hope. She always said God never gives you more than you can handle. and Just give it to God. She cherished her grandchildren and every moment spent with her family. She was the backbone for her family and an inspiration to all. Charlene leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 31 years, Kenneth Potier; two daughters, Tawana (James) Auguillard and Kendra Potier; three grandchildren, Jayden and Gavin Auguillard and Reggie Potier; her stepmother, Nearline Willis; one brother, Robert (Cassandra) Willis; two sisters, Shannon (Orlando) Wilkins and Julia (Jerome) Adams; three godchildren, Jason Sonnier, Jarred Sam, and Alexis Alexander; her father-in-law, Clifton (Velma) Hypolite, Sr.; sister-in-law, Pammelitia Potier; brother-in-law, Clifton Hypolite, Jr.; aunts, Helen Prejean, Mary Ann Ward, Verna Celestine, Theresa Richard, Linda Alexander, Elsie (Wallace) James, Josephine Sonnier, Patricia (Johnny) Williams, Mary L. Harper, Earline Sonnier; two uncles, Murphy (Bonnie) Willis and Roland Willis; one great uncle, Abbey Phillips; and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Willis and Rose Marie Celestine; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Celestine; paternal grandparents, Albert Willis, Sr. and Theresa Willis Fontenette; mother-in-law, Genorita Potier; and a brother-in-law, Mendy Jerome Potier.
