New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Charles 'CD' Delahoussaye, 80, who died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Nunez.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM.
A native of Iberia Parish, Mr. Delahoussaye was born on January 9, 1933 to Clesmae and Alicia Gary Delahoussaye. He had a passion for horse racing, and worked has a horse trainer for most of his life.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Delahoussaye of Opelousas, Vickey Delahoussaye of Kaplan, Annie Marceaux and husband Audie of Abbeville, Alicia Segura and husband Kearney of New Iberia, Mickey Delahoussaye of Carencro, Kenneth Delahoussaye and wife Jamie of Carencro; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild due to arrive in July.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Austin Delahoussaye, Wilton Delahoussaye; sisters, Nan Rogers, Rosie Romero, Dorothy Schaubert, Mary Jane Landry; step brothers, Delias Delahoussaye, Ignace Delahoussaye, Edles Delahoussaye; step sister, Duclecia Delahoussaye.
