New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Highland Baptist Church in New Iberia for Charles W. Griffith, 68, who passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Rev. David Jeffreys will be the Officiant. A gathering of family and friends will be at Highland Baptist Church on Friday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A native of Monahan, Texas, Charles Wayne Griffith was born on July 23, 1950 to the late Harris B. and Nell Leatherwood Griffith. He was a longtime resident of New Iberia and worked as a social worker prior to his retirement. He is survived by a daughter, Megan Griffith of Canada; a brother, Donald Griffith and wife Carole of Nolanville, TX; and nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Nancine Griffith; and a sister, Sheril Lawler. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, where Charles was a longtime member, 607 Victory Dr., New Iberia, LA 70563.
