New Iberia - A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Charles William Harrison, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in New Iberia.
Born on October 7, 1923 in Ripley, Oklahoma, Mr. Harrison retired from Gulf Oil with over 30 years of service. He proudly served our country as a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asian and European Theaters. His pastimes included sailing and participating in the Senior Olympics where he played badminton and was a Louisiana Champion of horseshoes.
Survivors include his sons, Charles P. Harrison and wife Leslea of Houston, Thomas A. Harrison and wife Lisa of Rockport, Texas; grandchildren, Christina, Nicholas, Zachary, Andrew; and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ruth Stokes Harrison; son, Andrew "Andy" Harrison; parents, Paul and Cora Cummings Harrison; brothers, Paul Harrison, Tom Tribbey; and a sister, Grace Milhorn.
