VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Charles Ray Melancon, 57, who died on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his residence in Ft. Worth, TX. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Chanh Nguyen will officiate at the funeral Mass. Charles was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing, scuba diving, and also had a passion for antique cars. Survivors include his parents, Alton "White" and Alice Credeur Melancon, of Cecilia; his fiance, Geina Moody, of Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter, Angelia Hursell, of Long Beach, MS; three brothers, Jessie Joseph Melancon, of Butte LaRose, Michael James Melancon, of Cecilia, and Wilbert Paul Melancon, of Rochester, NY; two sisters, Leanna Giarratano and her husband, Donnie, of Cecilia, and Mary Taylor and her husband, John Reo Taylor, Sr. of, Arnaudville; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening. Pallbearers will be Joshua Frishberg, John Taylor, Sr., Jessie Melancon, Mike Melancon, Donnie Giarratano, and Wilbert Melancon. Honorary pallbearers will be Cale Moody and Aaron Moody. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
