Charles Olivier

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 10 :00 a.m. , on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 , at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Charles 'Richard' Olivier, 64, who passed away on Saturday, August 07, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center . Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Rev. Richard Fabre, will conduct the services. Richard had a passion for anything to do with fishing. He loved crawfishing, crabbing, shrimping and jug lining. He loved to be on the water and lived a lot of his retired life with his wife, Livia out in the basin, swamps and rivers on their camp boat "Crow's Nest". The times he spent cooking and being with his family and friends were the ones that meant the most to him. He enjoyed making everyone laugh; he was the light and life of the party. He had a spirit about him that made people happy when they were around him, and a smile that would light up the room. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife, of 45 years, Livia Albert Olivier of Catahoula; his daughter-in-law, Wanda Theriot Olivier of Catahoula; his daughter, Sheila Olivier Pauley and her husband, Clive of Catahoula; his sons, Russell "Rusty" Olivier and his fianc, Shanette of Catahoula, and Randall "Salt" Olivier and his wife, Crystal of Cecilia; his daughter, Kristy Olivier and her fianc, Mike Boudreaux of Catahoula; one adopted son, Matthew Barnett and his wife, Tammy of Loreauville; three brothers, Gerald Olivier and his wife, Patsy of Catahoula, Warren Olivier of Catahoula, and Newell Olivier and his wife, Melinda of Parks; and nineteen grandchildren, Hunter Olivier, Blake Olivier, Sadi Guidry, Jacy Guidry, Alana Olivier, Rejen Olivier, Ted'm Olivier, Kailey Futch, Kanon Futch, Kaysha Leger, Gannon Olivier, Tanner Olivier, Jenna Olivier, Macenly Boudreaux, Malee Devillier, Makail Boudreaux, Amber Horton, Alisha Smith, and Andrea Smith; and one great-grandaughter, Alaijah Arceneaux. He was preceded in death by his son, Ritchie Louis Olivier; his parents, Pierre "P.D." and Pearly Olivier; and one brother, Sherman Olivier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2010 and continue until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Hunter Olivier, Russell Olivier, Randall Olivier, Clive Pauley, Matthew Barnett, Kevin Arceneaux and Mike Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandsons. Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
