Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 15, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Charles Rudolph ""Rudy"" Raggio, 64, who passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. ?Readers will be Coleton Dartez and Katherine Read. Gift bearers will be his grandchildren.
Rudy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. ?He loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. ?He was a member of the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Association for many years, serving as President in 1980, and was inducted into the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival ""Hall of Fame."" ?He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Bobby LaCour Raggio, of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Robert Dartez and his wife, Amanda, of San Jos?, CA, Kyle Dartez and his wife, Desiree, and Richard Dartez and his wife, Raleen, all of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Holly Guidry and her husband, Michael, of Ragley; and nine grandchildren, Ashley Dartez, Kadi Dartez, Katherine Read, Mikey Guidry, Madeline Read, Coleton Dartez, Camrynn Dartez, Hunter Dartez, and Samuel Guidry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Mae Melancon Raggio; one brother, Jerry Raggio; and one sister, Beverly Weber.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
Pallbearers will be his three sons, Robert, Kyle and Richard Dartez, Scott Sibley, Michael Guidry, Roland Landry, Paul Daigle, and Kenneth Chauffe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Montet and Albert
Going.
Rudy's family would like to invite his relatives and friends to a reception, following the funeral service. ?The reception will be held at Joel Theriot's Studio, 1605 Grand Point Road, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517 (formerly, Baudin's Supermarket).
