Chester Benoit

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Chester Benoit, 77, who passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Father Donald Pousson will conduct the services. Readers will be Toni Cade and Darnell Cookie Tauzin. Gift Bearers will be his nieces. Chester was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Henderson. He enjoyed working, never complained and was family oriented. He was known to many as a perfectionist. Survivors include his sisters, Mavis B. Theriot of Cecilia, Sue B. Hulin of St. Martinville, Ruby B. Johnson of Nashville, Ruth B. Douet and her husband, Sidney of Cecilia, and Hazel B. Latiolais and her husband, Benoit of Nina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Leota Huval Benoit; his brothers, Rene Benoit, Jr. and John Russell Benoit; his sisters, Stella B. Latiolais and Marion B. Tauzin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 and continue until Monday at 1:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be James Hebert, Mike Douet, John Benoit, Logan Hyatt, Adam Hyatt and Robert Bobby Cade. Honorary pallbearer will be John Russell Tauzin. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
