Chester Louis Pontiff

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Chester Louis Pontiff, 71, who died Friday, April 14, 2006 at his residence. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. The readers will be Christine Olivier and Lauren Latiolais; gift bearers will be Randy Guidry, Kinsley Anslem, Brock Darby and Chelsea Dore. Mr. Chester's passion in life was hunting - he was a member of "The Whitetail Hunting Club". Survivors include his wife, Mildred Lalonde Pontiff of Arnaudville; his brothers, Lester Pontiff of Brewton, AL, Luke Pontiff and his wife, Rita, Adolph Pontiff, Jr. and his wife, Lee, and Ronald Pontiff and his wife, Linda, all of Arnaudville; and his sisters, Mary Lee Lagrange, Modeste Quebedeaux, and her husband, Bruno, and Margine Ella Latiolais and her husband, V.J., all of Arnaudville. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Pontiff; his parents, Adolph Pontiff, Sr. and Agnes Duplechein Pontiff; his sisters, Alice and Elaine Pontiff; his sister-in-law, Lenora "Kate" Guidry; and his nephews, Kevin Quebedeaux, Randy Guidry, Johnnie, Scottie and Mitchell Pontiff. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 until time of service on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p,m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Shane Guidry, Michael Latiolais, Terry Franks, Todd Latiolais, Patrick Pontiff, and Curlis Quebedeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty and Julian Pontiff.
