Chris James Ardeneaux

New Iberia – A memorial service will be held at Wayne Trahan’s Place, 1904 Freyou Rd., New Iberia, LA at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023, for Chris J. Ardeneaux, 58, who passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home.

A gathering of family and friends will be at from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Wayne Trahan’s Place.

A longtime resident of New Iberia, Chris James Ardeneaux was born in Franklin, Louisiana on September 9, 1964, to the late Nolan Sr. and Gwendolyn Thibodeaux Ardeneaux. Chris worked as a machinist in his early years. He was a simple man who loved to fish. He had a large collection of  tools, flashlights and knives. He adored his chocolate lab, Cocoa, who never left his side. What Chris cherished most in life was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Ardeneaux is survived by his loving wife, Cyndi Darcey Ardeneaux; children, Taryn Mayea and husband Nick, Blair Ardeneaux and wife Tia, and Amber Ardeneaux and fiancé Derek Derouen; grandchildren, Cameron, Sterlyn and Grayson Mayea, Brennan and Brianna Ardeneaux, Kaizly and Braelynn Viator, and Hudson and Faithlynn Derouen; godchild, Natalie Culter Bourgeois and husband Scott; twin sister, Christy Sharp and husband Raymond; sister, Becky Culter and companion Ward Delahoussaye; his beloved dog, Cocoa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Ardeneaux; brothers-in-law, Dane Luent and John Culter; and his parents-in-law, Elsie and William Dub Darcey.
