Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Chris M. LeBlanc, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and dedicated professional, who passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, at the Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus at 7:00 PM on Monday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Myra Bienvenu and Ellen Courville. Gift bearers will be Becky Rodriguez and Karen Griffin.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
He was born on September 7, 1948, in New Iberia, LA. Chris led a remarkable life filled with love, commitment, and an unwavering passion for his family and career. After completing his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a Technician in Telecommunications at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Chris diligently served 30 years of service in this role until his retirement in 2006.
He shared an enduring bond with his beloved wife, Mary Janice LeBlanc, whom he was married to for an impressive 50 years. Their marriage was a testament to their deep love and unwavering commitment to one another. He loved his family immensley and enjoyed each moment spent with them. Chris embraced life fully and enjoyed pursuing various hobbies and interests during his leisure time. He had a natural talent for fishing enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He cherished the camaraderie these activities provided. His passion for these pastimes brought him closer to friends old and new.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Janice Latiolais LeBlanc; daughter, Carla LeBlanc Francis and her husband, John Marcus Francis; grandchildren, Nathan, Garrett and Eva Francis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Dora Chriss LeBlanc; brother, Oris LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Gary Latiolais; and nephew, Roddie Rodriguez.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Francis, Garrett Francis, Clint Latiolais, Patrick Smoak, Brian Borel, and Kerry Migues.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Glass, Larry Broussard, and John Marcus Francis.
As we bid farewell to Chris M. LeBlanc, let us celebrate the remarkable life he lived and honor the memories he created. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all as we navigate the journey ahead.
