St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Christiana Z. Smith, 68, who passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until funeral mass at 10:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Christiana was born in Lafayette to the late Harry, Sr. and Helen Thomas Zenon. She was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Maurice Smith and wife Annette; grandchildren, Blason Armsted, D'andre Smith, Scott Marshall, Skylar Marshall, Mariah Smith, and Alijah Smith; great grandchildren, Kayden Marshall, Kameron Davis, Khiyli Marshall, and Aria Adams; brothers, Richard Zenon and wife Mary, Willie Zenon, John Zenon, Harry Zenon and wife Eula, Joseph Zenon and wife Debra, McKinley Zenon and wife Jeanette, and Herbert Zenon; and her sister, Patricia Zenon. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Smith, Sr.; son, John C. Smith, Jr.; father, Harry Zenon, Sr.; and mother, Helen Thomas Zenon.
