Clarence Angelle

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Clarence Angelle, 85, who passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Altar Servers will be Rainey Guidry, Allison Brasseaux, Erin Blanchard, Hunner Huval, Jean Angelle, and Trace Guidry. Scriptures will be read by Todd Granger and John Angelle; Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Angelle Brasseaux, Catherine Blanchard, Josie Blanchard, and Alexis Broussard. Eucharistic Ministers will be Claudette Stelly and Randy Angelle. Musical selections will be provided the Cecilia Choir, led by Al Berard and Leo 'Pope' Huval. Mr. Angelle was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a Radioman 2nd Class. He was retired with the United States Postal Service after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, where he served as a Lector and Lay Minister, and was a former member of the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Woodmen of the World, Rural Letter Carriers Association, and a former teacher for the Veteran's Administration. A dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Clarence was married to the love of his life, Elaine, for 54 beautiful years, besides his love for his wife and family, he enjoyed farming, raising livestock, and being outdoors with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his loving wife, Elaine Granger Angelle of Cecilia; his daughters, Angela Broussard and her husband, Kurt, of Lafayette, Melisa Brasseaux and her husband, Dwayne 'Bross,' Cabrina Guidry and her husband, Melvin 'Stretch,' Elaine Adele Huval and her husband, Rowdy, and Clair Angelle Blanchard and her husband, Allen, Jr., all of Cecilia; his sisters, Gloria Braun and her husband, William, Janet Dupuis and her husband, Francis, of Breaux Bridge, and Genevieve Colligan and her husband, Joe; his mother-in-law, Nell Granger of Parks; his sister-in-law, Genevieve Hardy Angelle of Cecilia; and his grandchildren, Barret and Alexis Broussard, Angelle and Allison Brasseaux, Rainey and Trace Guidry, Forest and Hunner Huval, and Catherine, Erin, and Josie Blanchard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Jeanne Caillier Angelle; his brothers, James Burton Angelle, Sr. and Harold Angelle; his sister, Louella Angelle Broussard; his niece and nephew, Cathy and J. Burton Angelle, Jr.; and his in-laws, Percy Granger, Lator and Busie Boutte, Carol and Juilliette Granger, Janet and Lawrence Marks, Shirley D. Angelle and Wilson Broussard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Melvin 'Stretch' Guidry, Rowdy Huval, Forest Huval, Kurt Broussard, Barret Broussard, Paul Granger, Al Blanchard, and Dwayne 'Bross' Brasseaux. Honorary pallbearers will be John, Randy, Will , Leon , Dean, Kenneth, Gary, and Brian Angelle, and Kelly LeBlanc. Donations, honoring his memory, may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
