Clarence Marcel

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Clarence Joseph ""B"" Marcel, 76, who died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Opelousas General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Marcel loved his job as a police officer, serving in the Arnaudville area for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Marcel of Breaux Bridge; his sons, Ernest Marcel of Florida, Gerard Marcel of Cecilia and Sidney Marcel of New Orleans; his daughter, Mary Marcel of Breaux Bridge; his brothers, Sidney Marcel, Maurice Marcel, both of New Orleans, and Gilbert Marcel of Arnaudville; his sister, Nola May M. Fontenot of Opelousas; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Clarence Marcel; an infant daughter, Judy Marcel; his parents, Maurice and Josephine Marcel; his brothers, Lawrence and Daevenee Marcel; and his sister, Emily Marcel Lastrape. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Catherine Catholic Church from 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until time of service.
