BreauxBridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Clarence Nick, Jr., 87, who passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012.
Mr. Nick was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an insurance adjuster for Zurich Insurance for several years.
He was a member of the Diamondhead Golf Association, Gulf Coast S.R.S., and a past member of the Knights of Columbus - Cardinal Gibbons Chapter, New Orleans, and the V.F.W. Post 2880 - Diamondhead.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Bernice R. Nick of Lafayette, LA; four sons, Clarence B. Nick and his wife, Barbara, of Durham, NC, Gregory D. Nick and his wife, Peggy, of Lafayette, LA; Stephen C. Nick and his wife, Elizabeth of Melbourne, Australia, and Brent G. Nick and his wife, Lynn, of Harvey, LA; his daughter, Mary Carmen Nick Black and her husband, Chips, of Baton Rouge, LA; his brother, Christian Nick and his wife, Ann, of Metairie, LA; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Nick, Sr. and Madeline Aicklen Nick; and a brother, Edward G. Nick.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 5th beginning at 11 a.m. and will continue until time of service.
