Claude Bienvenu

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 5, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in New Iberia for Claude Joseph Bienvenu, 90, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in a New Iberia Hospital. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, in St. Martinville. Fr. Jude Halphen, will be the Celebrant. Born on July 17, 1916, Mr. Bienvenu is the son of Paul and Mathilde Wiltz Bienvenu. He worked as an office manager for the Morton Salt Company, with 42 years of service, and was a former president of the New Iberia Little League. Survivors include his wife, Verna Judice Bienvenu of New Iberia; sons, Ronald Bienvenu and wife Carolyn of New Iberia, Bert Bienvenu and wife Myra of New Iberia; sister, Loretta Richard of Lafayette; grandchildren, Dr. Bryan Bienvenu of Baton Rouge, Leah Guilbeau of Broussard, Lisa Bienvenu of Metairie, Brandon Bienvenu of New Iberia, Kristen Segura of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Julia Guilbeau, Riley Bienvenu, Grace Bienvenu, Elizabeth Bienvenu, and Joseph Bienvenu. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Will, Marcel, and Alton Bienvenu. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 9:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia, until time of service. Pallbearers will be Brandon Bienvenu, Wayne Bienvenu, Bron Segura, Cecil Guilbeau, Dr. Bryan Bienvenu. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Bienvenu and Mark Richard.
