Clayus Chevalier

Arnaudville - Clayus Chevalier, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette. Mr. Chevalier was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Navy. A carpenter by trade, and known as a man with great debate skills, "he was never wrong, but always right". Clayus would read every day and understood the news better than most. He always enjoyed gatherings that would turn into parties. Survivors include a daughter, Henrietta Noel, of Arnaudville; and a brother, Stanley Chevalier, of Arnaudville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mathilda Alexander Chevalier; an infant child; his parents, Walter and Cecile Patt Chevalier; one brother, McKinley Chevalier; and two sisters, Ezola Chevalier and Gertrude Robicheaux Chevalier.
