Cleveland Joseph Reed, Sr.

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, April 5, 2010, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Cleveland Joseph Reed, Sr. 68, who passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mr. Reed loved going fishing, playing cards, and listening to music. He especially enjoyed cooking for his family. The biggest pride and joy in his life were his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Thomas Reed of Arnaudville; two sons, Cleveland Reed, Jr. (Rachell) of Grand Coteau, Joseph Lamont Reed, Sr. (Artrina) of Arnaudville; three daughters, Leslie Reed (John Powell), of Arnaudville, Marteen Reed White (Gregory) of Dallas, TX, and Anna Marie Major of Leonville; four brothers, John Reed, Gerald Riggs, Charlie Riggs, and T. Major; nine sisters, Shirley Johnson, Cheryl Tolliver, Shirley Thomas, Clara Lastrapes, Carolyn Riggs, Virgie Sam, Mary Charles, Barbara Major, and Odelia Riggs; and eight grandchildren, Markell James Reed, Candranica Reed, Chelsey Mouton, Joseph Lamont Reed, Jr., Johnathan Reed, Jacey Alexandria Reed, Hannah White, and Haley White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mabel Senegal Reed; two brothers, Lawrence Reed and Norman Major; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Riggs and Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Senegal. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 10p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
