Brusly, LA - Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, LA for Clifton 'Kip' Doiron, 81, who passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at his sons home in New Iberia. Interment will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Baton Rouge. Kip was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, LA. He retired as a Captain with the Baton Rouge Police Department in 1976 with 24 years of service. After retirement, he worked security in the Louisiana Senate for 20 years. Kip was the lead guitar player with the Music Makers, lead by Mr. Charles Favro. Survivors include his son, Bob McCurley and his wife, Jane of New Iberia; his step son, Dan McCurley of Memphis, TN; his nieces and nephews, Roger Doiron, Dee Doiron, Kelly Doiron, Louise Marchand Reynolds, Mark Doiron, Michelle Doiron and Lee Marchand; his sister in laws, Marina Doiron and Ethel Doiron Roshto of Brusly; his grandchild, Lee A. McCurley and his great grandchildren, Layne, Bailey and Gavin McCurley. He was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Hughs Doiron; his parents, Wallace and Mable Landry Doiron; his step sons, Van McCurley and Woody McCurley; his brothers, Kirk, Wallace and Cyril Doiron; and his sister, Ella Marchand. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 until service time at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 402 S. Kirkland Drive (River Road), Brusly, LA 70719. Pallbearers will be Bob McCurley, Roger Doiron, Lee McCurley, Mark Doiron, Louis LeBlanc, and Gene Pellerin. Honorary pallbearer will be Dee Doiron.
