Clifton Galentine, Sr.

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Clifton Galentine, Sr., 87, who passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Galentine was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Knights of Peter Claver. During his free time, he enjoyed visiting with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he was an avid sports fan. Mr. Galentine was a family man who always knew how to make people feel special by calling them for their birthdays and anniversaries. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Lewis Galentine of Breaux Bridge; sons, Clifton Galentine, Jr. and wife Anita of Lafayette and Clifford Galentine and wife Gwendolyn of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Sylvia Egland and husband Floyd of Breaux Bridge, Lelia Robinson and husband Carl of New Orleans, and Lena Celestine and husband Randy of Albuquerque, NM; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Galentine; mother, Lena Edmond John; brothers, Wilbert Galentine, Wilfred Galentine, and Edward Edmond.
