St. Martinville - Services will be held at a later date for Clifton Shelby John Mire Sr., 81, who passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019, at his residence. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Mire enjoyed doing wood carving work, gardening, going to the casino and horse races, and watching football. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Resweber Mire of St. Martinville; sons, Clifton Shelby John Mire, Jr. and wife Mary of Chandler, TX, Grant Edward Mire of St. Martinville, David Allen Mire and wife Becky of St. Martinville, Christopher Mire of St. Martinville, and Andrew Dewey Mire and wife Cheryl Peltier of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Andrea "Pinky" Mire of St. Martinville; sister, Bernie Laur Deal and husband Baxter of St. Martinville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Solange Theresa Babineaux; father, Clifton Joseph Mire; and a son, Michael Mire. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
