Cliny 'CJ' Theriot

June 3, 1931 — July 5, 2018

A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Carencro, Cliny "CJ" Joseph Theriot, Sr., 87 passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7:27 am surrounded by his family. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 9:00 am until time of funeral service. Reverend John Vining will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. CJ was a devout parishioner of Northwood United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served during the Korean War. CJ was an active member in the Masonic Lodge, St. Martinville and Rayne. He was Grand Master at the Masonic Lodge in Patterson, LA. CJ enjoyed golfing but most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse, Betty Jean Dubois Theriot; his sons, Cliny Joseph Theriot, Jr. and wife Anna, and Matthew Blaine Theriot and wife Rebecca; his daughter, Sheila Jean Theriot Kimball and husband Douglas; his brothers, Allie Theriot, and Nolan Theriot and wife Joyce; his sisters, Cecile Dupuis, Marie Broussard, and Lucille Theriot; his sister in law, Regina Theriot; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his 3 children, Anna Jean Aucoin Theriot; parents, Don Louis and Lucia Breaux Theriot; brothers, Woodrow (Luda), Willis (Rita), and Dudley Theriot; sisters, Rita Romero (Jack), Theresa Cormier (Edmond), and Judy Theriot; sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Joyce Theriot; brothers-in-law, Paul Dupuis and Pete Broussard. Pallbearers will be Douglas Kimball Jr., Blaine Joseph Theriot, Justin Kimball, Matthew Jude Theriot, Shaun Mathews, and David Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Allie and Nolan Theriot.
