Clodora "Pookie" Comeaux

New Iberia – Funeral Services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 18, 2024, for Clodora “Pookie” Comeaux, 76, who passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Camelot of Broussard.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Private inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. 

A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am Saturday. 

Clodora “Pookie" Comeaux, a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence, was born on April 10, 1948, in Erath, Louisiana to the late Leotard and Eula LeBlanc. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a passion for life that was infectious - always finding joy in the simple things. Pookie's love for adventure led her to enjoy garage sales and running the roads. Her green thumb was evident in the way she cared for her plants, nurturing them with tenderness and care.
 
A culinary artist in her own right, Pookie's kitchen was a place of magic and creativity. She delighted in experimenting with new recipes and flavors, always eager to share her delicious creations with loved ones. Cooking brought her immense joy, especially when she could gather her family around the table to enjoy a meal together.
 
Above all else, Pookie treasured moments spent with her grandchildren. Their laughter filled her heart with happiness, and she cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them.

Mrs. Comeaux is survived by her children, Herman Comeaux Jr. (Amy), William Comeaux (Jenny), and Spencer Comeaux; step-daughter, Melissa Guidry (Shane); grandchildren, Paige Comeaux, Sophia Comeaux, Allie Comeaux, Toby Comeaux, Trent Comeaux, Benjamin Comeaux, Vincent Nagel Jr., Lori Venable, and Christopher Guidry; and numerous great-grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Comeaux Sr.; step-son, Christopher "Bryan" Comeaux; and siblings, Ashton LeBlanc, Ludie Bouillion, and Jude LeBlanc.

Let us find solace in the memories we shared with Pookie. While she may no longer be by our side, her spirit lives on in each of us. May she rest in peace.
