New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon Saturday, January 26, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, in St. Martinville for Clyde P. Buford, Sr., 68, who died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in New Iberia.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery at a later date.
Rev. Austin Leger will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Mr. Buford's daughters Stephanie Comeaux and Jessica Viator. Gift Bearers include Hannah and Jonathon Viator.
Mr. Buford is a retired gas lift specialist, having worked for Texaco for 31 years, and had previously worked has a barber. He enjoyed working on his tractors, watching football, ""Gunsmoke"", ""Bonanza"", playing with his Boston Terriers, Skipper and Sassy, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ronnie Boudreaux Buford of New Iberia; sons, Clyde P. ""Buddy"" Buford, II and wife Jeanette of Cade, Heath P. Buford and wife Chrissy of New Iberia; daughters, Stephanie B. Comeaux and husband Donald of New Iberia, Jessica B. Viator and husband Kevin of Alexandria; brothers, Edwin J. Buford, Jr. and wife Janet of New Iberia, Perry Buford and wife Sharon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gerald Buford and wife Dot of Port Barre; sister-in-laws, Marilyn Buford of Lafayette, Nancy B. Viator of Coteau; brother-in-law, Paul A. Boudreaux, Sr. and wife Mary of Cade; grandchildren, Monique B. Trahan and husband Tony of New Iberia, Ashley R. Comeaux of Dallas, Hannah E. Viator of Alexandria, Jonathon Viator of Alexandria, Jordan Daigle of Cade, Tristan Daigle of Cade; great grandchildren, McKenzie A. Buford, Brianna Buford, and Hadyn Trahan all of New Iberia; loving pets, Skipper and Sassy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin J. Buford, Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leed Boudreaux; brother, Frederick Buford; nephew, Edwin J. Buford, III, brother-in-law, Terry P. Viator, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Clyde P. Buford, II, Heath P. Buford, Donald R. Comeaux, Kevin P. Viator, Paul A. Boudreaux, Jr., and Allen ""Butch"" Boudreaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Viator, Paul Boudreaux, Jordan Daigle, and Tristan Daigle.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
