Clyde "T-Boy" Peter Gedward, Sr.

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Clyde Peter Gedward "T-Boy", 66, who passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. T-Boy was born in Lafayette, LA on November 22, 1949 to Elsie Mae Roberts Gedward and the late Arthur Joseph Gedward, II. He grew up in St. Martinville, LA and was currently living there with his wife, Joann Etienne Gedward. He started his career as a driller for Mallet where he was employed for 15 years. He then became a crane operator for Ensco where he retired after 23 years of service. T-Boy went to work for the city of St. Martinville for 2 years after he realized retirement was not his thing. He was currently employed at Halliburton as a machine operator, where he spent his last 2 years. T-Boy was a Mason and a member of the Goodwill Society. He loved his family and spending time with them. His favorite things included having a good time dancing, drinking, and riding his 4-wheeler. T-Boy also enjoyed taking special care of his cars and his cat, Jessica. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joann Etienne Gedward; his mother, Elsie Mae Gedward; his sons, Marcus Calligan and wife Penny, and Clyde Gedward, Jr.; his brother, Arthur P. Gedward, III and wife Gloria; his grandchildren, Makayla Cook, Cherie Calligan, Marcus Calligan, Jr., Markira Calligan, Jalen Domino, Brian White, Jaheim Cook, Kaiah Gedward, Kamryn Gedward and London Gedward; and his goddaughters, Rosalind Francis and Destinee DeRouen. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Joseph Gedward, II; his brother, Leander Gedward, Sr.; and a great nephew, Danny Paul DeRouen, II. Pallbearers will be Dexter Ambroise, Micheal Kerlegan, Leander Gedward Jr., DeShannon Randall, Avery Gedward, McBride Roberts, Kendall Guidry, and Cecil Parsley. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Ambroise Jr., Roy Roberts Jr., Kenneth Randall, Preston Taylor, Jermie Williams, Cornell Gedward, Lincoln Gedward, Clarence Kerlegan, Graylan Guidry. and Rodney Roberts.
