St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Conrad Alton Daspit, Jr., 80, who passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Conrad retired as a boat captain in the oil field industry and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved going to horse races and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Escoyne Daspit; sons, Kenneth Daspit (Tiffany) and Chad Daspit (Nicole); daughter, Rachael Champagne (Jonathan); grandchildren, Triston Daspit, Asia Daspit, Rowyn Daspit, Chloe' Daspit, Korbin Daspit, Canon Daspit, Riley Daspit, Alivia Champagne, Lacey Champagne, Jonathan Champagne, Jr., and Megan Champagne; and great grandchildren, Karli Durand, Lexi Durand, Kaylynn Comeaux, Chaysli Schexnayder, Bentley Schexnayder, and Everleigh Dauphinet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Daspit, Sr. and Louise LeBlanc Daspit; sons, Dexter Daspit and David Daspit; brothers, Russell Clark, and Lawrence Daspit (Charlene); sister, Dorothy Daspit; and father, Roy Clark.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Daspit, Chad Daspit, Triston Daspit, Korbin Daspit, Canon Daspit, and Jonathan "TJ" Champagne Jr.
