Cora Narcisse

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Cora M. Narcisse, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in Baton Rouge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Narcisse was a longtime parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where she devoted numerous hours of her time cleaning and preparing for church services and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Cora spent every morning and evening praying the rosary. She enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, cooking, baking, and most of all family gatherings. She was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and a friend to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Melinda George and husband Gregory of Baton Rouge, Tyra Pollard and husband Errol of Baton Rouge, Eboney Lindsey and husband Grallin of Baton Rouge; her son, James Narcisse, Jr. and wife Marie of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Narcisse, Sr.; her parents, Thomas Williams, Sr. and Lillian Laxey Williams; her sister, Marie Mose; and her brothers, George Williams, Thomas Williams, Jr., Clarence Williams, Sr., Preston Williams, and Harold Williams. Pallbearers will be Kelvis Simon, Adrien Rogers, Terrance George, Keedrick Williams, Keiland Williams, and Grallin Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be James Narcisse Jr., Errol Pollard, Gregory George, Marshall Toliver, Dwayne Cossett and Junius Narcisse.
