Cory Richard Sherlock DeForrest

New Iberia - A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Cory Richard Sherlock Deforrest, 31, who passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at his residence. Deacon Casey Dugas, Cory's step-brother, will officiate. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Tuesday. Cory loved music and singing, the Denver Broncos, racing, joking around and pulling pranks. He found joy in making others laugh. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, step-children, and family. Cory is survived by his father, Scott DeForrest and step-mother, Jill; his mother, Teresa Landesman and step-father, Bob; his children, Ayden, Carson and Ava DeForrest; step-children, Sean and Jocelyn Landry, and Marley and Kyler Morvant; siblings, Cody and wife Hillary, and Kira and fiance' Hunter; step-brothers, Deacon Casey Dugas and Kelly Dugas; fiancee, Ashley Lavergne; maternal grandfather, Gary Sherlock; step-grandparents, Ronald and Mary Dartez; a niece, Kaleesi DeForrest; aunts, Ann Conklin, Donnelle Clark, Annette Hawkins, Andrea Mellons, Sandra Breaux, and Tammy Radmacher and husband Tim; and numerous close cousins whom Cory enjoyed spending time with and loved very much. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Richard Poulter; maternal great-grandfather, Raymond Sherlock; great-grandmother, Marian Sherlock; paternal grandmother, Ellen DeForrest; maternal grandmother, Judy Sherlock; and an uncle, Tim Sherlock.
