New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2007, at Faith Cathedral Church, in New Iberia for Cursy Joseph Romero, 71, who died Thursday, November 15, 2007 in New Iberia.
Bishop Drew Rousse will officiate.
A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Cursy worked as a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Brasseaux Romero of New Iberia; mother, Willa Poirier Romero of New Iberia, son, William Romero of New Iberia; step sons, Shane Olander and Shaun Brasseaux both of New Iberia, Sylvester Olander of Jeanerette; daughters, Azalea Romero of Lydia, Debbie Dugas of Iberia Parish, Melinda Girard of New Iberia, Sarah Arceneaux of Youngsville; step daughters, Jessica Waynick, Karen Degeyter both of New Iberia; brothers, Gordy Romero, Perry Romero, Paul J. Romero, Paul Wayne Romero, and Joseph Romero all of New Iberia; sister, Marie Gary of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ovey Romero; a grandson, Ned Romero, and his grandparents.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
