Curtis Halphen

St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 21, 2012, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Curtis Fournet Halphen, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Thursday by Fr. Ed Degeyter. Fr. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Altar Servers will be Ian and Amalia Miguez. Scriptures will be read by Angie Daly and Darlene Cormier. Gift Bearers will be Lisa Russo, Claire Broussard, Sharon Maturin, and Danette Bourque. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Her hobbies and interests are first and foremost, her family and friends. She loved to cook and take care of anyone and everyone that passed through her life. She was in inspiration from her front porch. She loved tending to her flowers and working crossword puzzles. Another of her favorite and very important practices was attending Mass daily with her nephew (honorary son), Boogie. She is survived by four daughters, Elaine "Tootsie" Halphen Bienvenu and her husband, Gary Bienvenu, Sr. of Parks, Dolores "Dobie" Halphen Duplantis and her husband, Nolan "Noonie" Duplantis, Sr. of St. Martinville, Jo Ann Halphen Courville and her husband, Ernest, of Loreauville, and Peggy Halphen Miguez and her husband, Leslie Miguez, Sr. of St. Martinville; her honorary son, Harold "Boogie" Pritchard and his wife, Jean Ellen Pritchard, of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren, Gary Bienvenu, Jr. and his wife, Julie, Sherry Maturin and her husband, Wayne, Mari Bienvenu and her partner, Ray Boyd, Steven Bienvenu and his partner, Sunday Douglas, Chris Bienvenu and his wife, Sheila, Darlene Cormier and her husband, Guy, Angie Daly and her husband, Joseph, Noonie Duplantis, Jr. and his wife, Tonya, Denise Rebert and her husband, Paul, Dawn Trimble and her husband, Johnny, Danette Bourque and her husband, Kenneth, David Courville, Lisa Russo and her husband, Mike, Claire Broussard and her husband, Johnny, Leslie Miguez, Jr. and his wife, Emily, and Brian Miguez and his wife, Kassie; 35 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Durand Halphen; her parents, Frank and Agnes Olivier Fournet; four sisters, Lillian 'Sis' Borel, Jeanne Pritchard, Elaine Fournet, and Marian Prince; one grandchild, David Michael Duplantis; one great grandchild, Coty Rebert; and great-great grandchild, Keiland Rebert.
